Mr. James Knight (British) – Executive Director. Mr. Knight is a graduate of the University of Plymouth (Institute of Maritime Studies). He began his career in shipping with Andrew Weir Shipping Ltd. in their London headquarters before being posted to Mombasa as Regional Manager for South and East Africa in 1996. Joined Seaforth Shipping as General Manager in February 1999 and became Executive Director in 2000. Mr. Knight is the Vice Chairman of the Kenya Ships Agents Association and the Honorary British Consul.
Moyukh Chatterjee (Indian) – Line Manager. Mr. Chatterjee is a graduate of the University of Calcutta, India ( Bachelor of Commerce). He began his career in shipping with Sentrans Maritime in 1992 as Line Manager for the National Shipping company of Saudi Arabia and Clan S.A. in India. In early 2000 he joined Sentrans Maritime (Kenya) Ltd. as Line Manager for Indian Ocean Lines & Meridian Container Line.
Mr. M. A. Ladha (Kenyan) – Financial Controller. Joined in 1992 with a background of ten years in accountancy and computer accounting skills. He has developed our computer network and has been instrumental in implementing various computerised systems for shipping documentation and accounts as well as E-mail and EDI systems
Mr. M. A. Bhalloo (Kenyan) – Administration Manager. Joined in 1976, shortly after the Company was registered in Kenya and has worked in all departments of the agency. During this time he has gained an intimate working knowledge of all shipping activities in Kenya. Amongst his other activities Mr. Bhalloo is responsible for the smooth handling of all crew changes, clearance and delivery of spares / stores to vessels and is our resident cruise vessel specialist
Mr. Sospeter Kabar (Kenyan) – Shipping Manager. Mr. Kabar is a graduate of Kenyatta University (Nairobi), a member of the Institute of Chartered Ship Brokers and holds various specialised shipping diplomas. His career in shipping began with Kenya National Shipping where he worked in both the operations and port agency departments. He joined in 1992 as a Freight / Line Manager until 1996 when he was promoted to his current position. He is widely acknowledged as being a specialist in liquid and dry bulk cargo operations.
DAR ES SALAAM
Mr. Anver M. Rajpar F.C.A. (Tanzanian) – Executive Director. Mr. Rajpar began his career in shipping as a shipowner in Tanzania in the late 1960’s until nationalisation of the shipping industry in 1967. He then started his own Agency in Pakistan, which is still in operation. He has interests in Banking & Insurance in Tanzania, where he resides, and after liberalisation he started General Shipping Agencies Ltd. in 1999, which merged with Seaforth Shipping Kenya Ltd. In January 2003 to form Seaforth General Agencies Ltd.
Mr. Alex T. Ngulela B.A.Econ.- (Tanzanian) Senior Operations Manager. Having worked briefly in the Insurance industry Mr. Ngulela joined Nasaco in 1988 as Operations Manager after which he joined Victoria Shipping Agency in 1998 for a year before coming to Seaforth Shipping in Dar es Salaam in 2000. He continued as Operations Manager with the merged Seaforth Shipping & General Shipping Agencies (Seaforth General Agencies) until early 2005 when he was promoted to Senior Operations Manager.
Ms. Gati Nyirabu MSc - (Tanzanian) Operations Manager. Ms. Nyirabu has had a career in shipping since joining Nasaco in 1978 as a Shipping Assistant rising through the ranks up to the position a Shipping Manager. Whilst at Nasaco she was chosen for further studies abroad in Norway and the U.K.. She joined General Shipping Agencies in 1999 as Operations Manager and continues with this position after the merger of Seaforth Shipping and General Shipping (Seaforth General Agencies).
